After the hoopla subsided and a disappointing homecoming Prom Dresses drastically thinned, the host Fike High varsity football team responded with a competitive performance. But a dominating first-half triggered Nash Central to 35-16 3-A Big East Conference victory on a nippy Friday evening. Surging Nash Central evened its overall record at 4-4 and joined Hunt in a deadlock for the conference lead at 2-0.

The Bulldogs ran -- and passed -- all over the Demons for 294 yards in the first half. But despite its domination, Nash Central's lead was only 21-7.
